Details
The 2N6028 is a Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) that comes in a TO-92 package, which is a popular through-hole mounting style. This SCR is designed for use in applications where high surge current capability and high voltage protection are required. The 2N6028 has a maximum blocking voltage of 400 volts and a peak non-repetitive surge current of 60 amperes, making it suitable for handling demanding power applications. It also has a high holding current capability of 10 mA, ensuring stable operation once triggered. Additionally, the 2N6028 has a gate trigger current (IGT) range of 6 mA to 25 mA, allowing for flexibility in triggering the SCR. Its gate voltage (VGTM) is specified at a maximum of 1.5 volts, making it easy to drive with standard logic level signals. This SCR is commonly used in circuits where it is necessary to control the flow of high electrical currents, such as in power supplies, motor control, and lighting applications.
