Details
With a focus on supporting the Rambus XDRTM memory subsystem and Redwood logic interface, the 9214 clock generator fulfills the need for essential clock signals in a compact 28-pin TSSOP package. The key components of the 9214 XDR Clock Generator include a PLL, a Bypass Multiplexer, and four differential output buffers, all working together to generate and deliver the required clock signals. The PLL utilizes a reference clock and a multiplier to adjust the frequency of the output signal, as specified in Table 2. Subsequently, the differential output buffers drive the enabled clocks, with disabled outputs set to Hi-Z. Additionally, the Bypass mode provides an alternative routing option for the input clock, bypassing the PLL when necessary. Furthermore, the 9214 devices can be cascaded on the same SMBus for efficient control and addressing, facilitating seamless integration and operation within various systems
