The AM85C30-16JI is a dual-channel serial communications controller designed for asynchronous data communication. It operates at a maximum speed of 16 Mbps and is capable of handling both synchronous and asynchronous data transfer protocols. This IC features two independent channels that can be programmed for different data rates, framing formats, and clocking schemes. The AM85C30-16JI supports both full-duplex and half-duplex communication modes, making it versatile for various applications.This device also includes integrated hardware flow control mechanisms such as CTS/RTS signals and software programmable XON/XOFF protocols. It is equipped with a 16-byte FIFO buffer for each channel to improve data throughput and reduce processor overhead. The AM85C30-16JI has a flexible interrupt structure with prioritized interrupt handling to streamline communication and ensure timely data processing.Furthermore, the AM85C30-16JI is designed to operate over a wide range of temperatures and voltages, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments.
