The APDS-9700-020 is a digital ambient light and proximity sensor module manufactured by Broadcom Limited. This sensor module combines an ambient light sensor (ALS) and a proximity sensor in a single package, providing accurate and reliable sensing in a variety of lighting conditions.The ambient light sensor has a spectral response that closely matches the human eye's response to light, allowing it to accurately measure ambient light intensity across a wide range of lighting conditions. This feature enables the sensor to adjust the display brightness of electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets based on the surrounding light levels, improving user experience and energy efficiency.The proximity sensor uses an infrared LED and a photodiode to detect the presence of objects within proximity of the sensor. This feature is commonly used in smartphones to automatically turn off the display when the device is held close to the user's face during a phone call, preventing accidental touch input and saving battery life.The APDS-9700-020 sensor module is small in size and low power consumption, making it ideal for integration into portable electronic devices.
