Details
The AS5145A is a contactless magnetic rotary encoder IC manufactured by ams AG. It provides absolute position feedback with a resolution of 12 bits (4096 positions per revolution). The IC uses a Hall sensor array to detect the magnetic field of a rotating magnet, allowing for non-contact operation.The AS5145A features a 360° angular range, making it suitable for rotary position sensing applications. It has a maximum speed of 10,000 RPM and operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. The IC communicates with external devices using an SPI interface, simplifying integration with microcontrollers and other components.Additionally, the AS5145A offers configurable settings for various parameters such as output data rate, resolution, and parity. It also includes diagnostics features such as magnetic field strength measurement and watchdog functionality. The IC is available in a compact SMD package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.
