The CD4040BCN is a CMOS 12-stage binary counter that sets itself apart with its built-in oscillator and minimal external component requirements. With just an external resistor and capacitor, this device can be easily implemented into a variety of circuit designs. Its maximum clock frequency of 4 MHz allows for efficient counting, and the option to cascade multiple CD4040BCN counters enables longer count lengths for more complex applications
