The DS1961S is an iButton secure authentication device manufactured by Maxim Integrated. It is a rugged, stainless steel button-shaped device that can securely authenticate products, peripherals, or accessories. The DS1961S utilizes the SHA-1 secure hash algorithm to provide secure authentication and data protection.The device features a unique 64-bit ROM ID for identification and tamper-proof authentication. It includes a 4Kb EEPROM memory for storing data and cryptographic keys securely. The DS1961S also includes a real-time clock to provide time-stamping functionality for secure transactions.The device operates in a wide temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for various industrial and commercial applications. It is powered by a single-contact interface and does not require an external power supply, making it easy to integrate into existing systems.
