Details
The DS2434 Battery Identification Chip provides a convenient method of tagging and identifying battery packs by manufacturer, chemistry, or other identifying parameters. The DS2434 allows the battery pack to be coded with a unique identification number, and also store information regarding the battery life and charge/discharge characteristics in its nonvolatile memory.FEATURES■ Provides unique ID number to battery packs■ Eliminates thermistors by sensing battery temperature on-chip■ 256-bit nonvolatile user memory available for storage of user data such as gas gauge and manufacturing information■ Operating range of -40°C to +85°C■ Applications include portable computers, portable/cellular phones, consumer electronics, and handheld instrumentation.■ Surface-mount package (209-mil SSOP16) available

The DS2434 is a 4Kb 1-Wire EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) with an internal 4-byte unique electronic serial number designed by Maxim Integrated. It is ideal for applications requiring secure data storage, such as tamper detection, product identification, and calibration data storage.
How Does DS2434 Work?
The DS2434 works by storing and retrieving digital data using a single-wire interface. It features unique 64-bit factory-lasered, ROM-programmed and guaranteed, read-only serial number (LASERED!, not EEPROM) for secure identification. The EEPROM memory can be written to and read from, allowing for flexible data storage and retrieval.
