The ISL1209 is a Real Time Clock (RTC) device manufactured by Intersil Corporation. It is designed to provide accurate timekeeping and calendar functions for a variety of applications, including industrial, consumer electronics, and communication equipment. The ISL1209 features a low power consumption design, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. It operates on a supply voltage range of 1.6V to 5.5V, with a typical current consumption of 450nA. The device also includes a power management system that automatically switches between the main power source and a backup battery to ensure continuous operation.The RTC offers a wide range of clock and calendar functions, including time and date keeping, alarm functions, and configurable clock output. It is programmable through a simple serial interface and has a precision of ±5ppm over the entire temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).Other key features of the ISL1209 include a 64-byte user SRAM, a programmable square wave output, and an integrated oscillator capacitor. The device is housed in a small 8-lead MSOP package, making it easy to implement in space-constrained applications.
