Details
The ISL6218 is a single-phase Synchronous Buck PWM controller designed for high efficiency step-down DC/DC converter applications. It operates from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V and can provide an output voltage as low as 0.6V. The controller is capable of delivering up to 20A of continuous output current in a typical application.The device features a fixed frequency PWM control with a switching frequency ranging from 100kHz to 1MHz, allowing for optimization of efficiency and size of the external components. It also includes internal soft-start, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown features to ensure safe and reliable operation.The ISL6218 incorporates an integrated gate driver to drive an external N-channel MOSFET for improved efficiency and thermal performance. It also includes a programmable current sense resistor for accurate current sensing to protect against overcurrent conditions.
