The LTC2642 is a family of quad 12-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converters (DACs) manufactured by Linear Technology (now part of Analog Devices). These DACs offer high accuracy and low noise performance, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial, automotive, and communication applications.Key features of the LTC2642 include a 12-bit resolution with a monotonic output, an integrated precision reference that eliminates the need for an external reference, and a high-speed serial interface that supports SPI and I2C protocols. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply voltage and provides a rail-to-rail output swing, ensuring compatibility with a variety of signal levels.The LTC2642 also offers an internal power-on reset circuit that ensures the DAC output remains at zero-scale during power-up. It provides excellent linearity with an INL and DNL of ±1LSB maximum and low output noise of 0.75mV RMS. Additionally, the DACs feature a low power consumption of less than 400µA in normal operation and less than 1µA in power-down mode, making them suitable for power-sensitive applications.
