The MAX764/MAX765/MAX766 inverting switching regulators stand out for their remarkable efficiency and versatility when it comes to handling different load currents. By employing a current-limited pulse-frequency-modulated control scheme, these regulators are able to merge the advantages of traditional PFM and PWM converters. As a result, the MAX764/MAX765/MAX766 deliver exceptional efficiency at heavy loads, similar to PWM converters, while keeping the supply current at a minimal 120µA, making them a highly efficient and power-saving option compared to typical PWM devices
