Details
With internal thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection, the MC7818CT is designed to enhance reliability and prevent damage to the device in case of overheating or a fault condition. The device has a dropout voltage of about 2V, meaning the input voltage must be at least 2V higher than the output voltage for proper regulation.
