Details
The MCP2551I is a high-speed CAN transceiver that serves as the interface between a CAN controller and the physical bus. It operates at speeds of up to 1 Mbps and has a wide common-mode range of -2V to 7V, making it suitable for a variety of applications. The transceiver is designed to be resistant to electromagnetic interference, ensuring reliable data transmission in harsh electrical environments.The MCP2551I features a high input impedance that allows for a greater number of nodes on the bus, as well as thermal shutdown and bus-fault protection for added safety. It also has a dominant time-out function that prevents the CAN bus from being stuck in a dominant state due to a faulty node.In addition, the MCP2551I has a low standby current consumption of 5μA, making it energy-efficient and suitable for battery-powered applications. It is available in various package options, including PDIP, SOIC, and DFN, making it easy to integrate into different designs.
