The NCV890101MWTXG is a sophisticated fixed-frequency, monolithic Buck switching regulator aimed at automotive applications with battery-connected systems, capable of operating with an input supply of up to 36V. Its design is specifically tailored for environments with low noise and small form factor requirements, such as automotive driver information systems. The regulator can efficiently convert the typical 4.5V to 18V automotive input voltage range to outputs as low as 3.3V at a constant switching frequency above the sensitive AM band, thereby eliminating the need for costly filters and EMI countermeasures. Furthermore, it offers synchronization pins for switching to a clock or another NCV890101 and provides crucial protection features including current limit, short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown, all essential for automotive power supply systems. The high switching frequency of the NCV890101 also ensures low output voltage ripple, even when using small inductor values and an all-ceramic output filter capacitor, resulting in a compact and efficient switching regulator solution
