Details

PCA8574A is an 8-bit I/O expander for I2C-bus with an input port register. The device features an 8-bit quasi-bidirectional input/output (I/O) port (P0–P7), which can be controlled through I2C communication. The I/O port can be software configured as an input or output port. Each input can operate with a 5 V input voltage and each output can drive 10 mA at 5 V. The device also features a hardware programmable Wake-up from the Stop mode. The device provides 3 hardware address pins, allowing up to 8 devices to operate on the same I2C-bus. It operates from 2.3 V to 5.5 V, allowing compatibility with various microcontrollers and systems. The PCA8574A also has ESD protection exceeding 4 kV HBM per JESD22-A114, 200 V MM per JESD22-A115, and 1 kV CDM per JESD22-C101 standards, ensuring robustness and reliability in harsh environments.
