The S87C196MC is an 8-bit microcontroller from the 8051 family of microcontrollers, specifically designed for embedded control applications. It features a high-performance 80C51 CPU core with a maximum operating frequency of up to 33 MHz. The device also includes 32KB of on-chip EPROM for program storage, allowing for code to be easily modified and updated in-system.The S87C196MC has a versatile set of peripherals, including a 16-bit timer/counter, watchdog timer, UART, and two full-duplex serial ports. It also has 32 general-purpose I/O pins, providing flexibility for interfacing with external devices and sensors.In terms of memory, the device has 256 bytes of internal RAM for data storage, as well as 512 bytes of additional on-chip RAM for stack and general-purpose use.Other features of the S87C196MC include power-saving modes, a 6-source, 5-vector interrupt structure, and a programmable counter array with three capture/compare channels.
