The TA7256P is a bipolar integrated circuit designed for driving 2-phase stepper motors. It is commonly used in various applications such as printers, scanners, robotics, and other automated systems. The TA7256P is capable of driving a wide range of stepper motor types, including both 4-phase and 2-phase motors. It can handle a maximum current of 2.5A per phase, making it suitable for driving medium-sized stepper motors.This IC features built-in flywheel diodes, which help protect the circuit from voltage spikes that can occur when the motor is turned off. It also has thermal shutdown and overcurrent protection to prevent damage to the IC and the motor.The TA7256P operates on a supply voltage of 12V to 36V, making it compatible with a wide range of power sources. It has a built-in clock generator with adjustable frequency and direction control inputs, making it easy to interface with a microcontroller or other control system.
