Details
The TEA1716 is a highly integrated controller IC for switch mode power supplies, specifically designed for offline flyback converters in low power applications. It is capable of delivering output power up to 12W with universal input voltage range from 85V to 265V AC.The TEA1716 features a built-in 650V power MOSFET, which allows for a reduced component count and smaller PCB size. It also includes various protection features such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature protection, ensuring a reliable and safe operation of the power supply.The IC operates in a fixed frequency mode with frequency jittering to minimize EMI emissions, and it utilizes a patented eco-mode function to reduce standby power consumption to below 100mW, making it compliant with energy efficiency standards such as Energy Star and ErP.Furthermore, the TEA1716 includes a comprehensive set of control functions such as cycle-by-cycle peak current mode control, soft start, and line voltage compensation, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including LED lighting, home appliances, and consumer electronics.
