The TEA2164 power factor correction (PFC) controller IC is a versatile and essential component for improving the efficiency of AC-DC power supplies. Its ability to operate in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) over a wide input voltage range of 85VAC to 265VAC makes it a suitable choice for various applications including LED lighting, appliances, and consumer electronics. By integrating a low-cost solution for power factor correction, the TEA2164 effectively controls an externally connected MOSFET to correct input power factor to near unity, while minimizing harmonics and ensuring compliance with international standards for efficiency
