Details
The TL16C2550IPFBR is a versatile dual UART that combines the functionality of two TL16C550D UARTs in one chip. Each UART operates independently with its own register set and FIFOs, sharing only the data bus interface and clock source. Also known as the Asynchronous Communications Element (ACE), this device offers speed and voltage upgrades compared to its predecessors, the TL16C550C and TL16C450. The ACE can be switched to an alternate FIFO mode to enhance performance by buffering received and transmitted characters, reducing the burden on the CPU. With a 16-byte FIFO for both receive and transmit data, error status bits are included for increased reliability
