TNY278P is a highly integrated off-line switcher IC (Integrated Circuit) that incorporates a 725 V power MOSFET, oscillator, high voltage switched current source, current limit and thermal shutdown circuitry. It is specifically designed for offline switch mode power supplies in consumer electronics, industrial controls, LED lighting, and other applications where power efficiency and reliability are important.The TNY278P operates in a flyback topology and provides up to 6.5 W of output power with high efficiency and low standby power consumption. It features a jittered switching frequency to reduce EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) emissions, as well as auto-restart protection in case of a fault condition.This IC requires minimal external components for operation, reducing the overall BOM (Bill of Materials) cost and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) footprint. It also incorporates built-in features such as line undervoltage lockout, hysteretic thermal shutdown, and accurate current limiting to ensure safe and reliable operation.
