Details
The UC3842P is a fixed frequency current mode PWM controller designed to operate at a switching frequency of 40 kHz. It is commonly used in offline and DC-to-DC converter applications to regulate the output voltage. This IC offers a variety of protection features such as overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, and undervoltage lockout. The UC3842P integrates the functions of a pulse width modulator, error amplifier, voltage reference, and a high-current output driver into a single chip. It features an operating voltage range of 7V to 35V and can drive power MOSFETs or bipolar transistors. The output stage is capable of delivering up to 1A of peak current.The internal oscillator of the UC3842P can be programmed by an external resistor and capacitor to set the switching frequency. The error amplifier compares a voltage feedback signal with a reference voltage to regulate the duty cycle of the PWM signal and maintain the desired output voltage.
