The SCANSTA111SMX product offers a unique solution for extending the IEEE Std. 1149.1 test bus into a multidrop test bus setup. By moving away from the traditional single serial scan chain, this product provides the advantage of improved test throughput and the flexibility to remove a board from the system while maintaining test access to the other modules. Each SCANSTA111SMX supports up to 3 local IEEE 1149.1 scan rings, which can be accessed independently or in a serial manner. Addressing is made simple by loading the instruction register with a value that corresponds to the Slot inputs. Moreover, the product allows for easy backplane and inter-board testing by parking the local TAP Controllers in a stable state using a Park instruction. The integration of a 32-bit TCK counter enables users to conduct built-in self-test operations on one port while simultaneously testing other scan chains
