The TPCA8122 is a high-efficiency DC/DC converter IC designed for automotive applications, specifically for powering microcontrollers and other low-voltage electronic components in vehicles. This IC integrates a power MOSFET, control circuitry, and protection features into a single package, reducing the external component count and overall PCB space required for the power supply solution.The TPCA8122 operates over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 40V, making it suitable for use in 12V and 24V automotive systems. It provides an adjustable output voltage range of 3.3V to 40V, allowing flexibility in powering various components in the system. The IC offers a high efficiency of up to 95% and can deliver a continuous output current of up to 2.5A.This DC/DC converter IC features built-in protection functions such as overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown to ensure safe and reliable operation in automotive environments. It also includes soft-start and power-on reset functions to prevent voltage overshoot during startup.
